Breeding Program

Blue Rider Farm has two foals due in 2010.  Both will be half siblings to Zephyr, pictured below.  Zephyr's thoroughbred dam, Captain's Surprise, is in foal to Yeager GF, a German Warmblood located in Washington.  Yeager has the scope, size, and movement that has proven to cross well and produce an exceptional sporthorse.  Gretchen, a TB mare, is in foal to Zephyr's dad, Windstar.  She has produced several lovely Irish sporthorses successfully competing in the Jumpers.  Both foals may be available for sale, contact me if you are interested.

Oktoberfest, 'Tova', at three weeks.  Light on her feet, and what a gorgeous color!

Zephyros, my current Irish Sport horse, is quite a stout little guy for being 3/4 TB.  He is full of personality and shows all the potential I hoped for, including exceptional jumping form!  He is currently just over a year old, and already stands at 15 hands.  His mature height is expected to be 16.3 hands.

Blue Rider Farm's broodmare, Captian's Surprise, is a Kentucky bred Thoroughbred with an impressive 44 starts at the track.  She retired sound, and Zephyr is her third foal.  She is out of Captian Bodgit, who has his own impressive record. To view, go to http://www.highfieldstockfarm.ca/captain_bodgit.html.

Zephyr's sire is Brandenburg's Windstar, Olympic eventer Phyllis Dawson's Irish Sport Horse. To view his information, go to http://www.teamwindchase.com/Breeding.htm. I have plans to continue to breed this excellent sport horse cross.

Pictured below, Zephyr at 6 months, all fancied up for his registration pictures!
